Step 1: Restore & Clean - The first step is to clean organic growth, grey wood fibers, and, if applicable, remove any previous coatings. After applying restoration products to the wood, you’ll want to let it dry slightly, but not all the way. This process, while eliminating the organic grow and rejuvenating the grey areas, will darken the wood, due to chemical interaction, this is why you want to follow it up with a short amount of time with the Brightener.
Step 2: Brighten - While the wood is still wet, you’ll want to apply the Brightener to the cleaned section. This allows the chemicals to absorb into the wet fibers, brightening up the darkened areas and bringing the wood back to its natural state. When applying these chemicals its best to cover up surrounding areas such as siding, windows, vegetation, etc. with a tarp or other covering to prevent damage to these areas.
